Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest For Weapon And Drug Possession
BREAKING: Police allegedly recovered a loaded revolver from inside the car.

A Valley Stream man was arrested early Thursday morning after Nassau County police officers conducted a traffic stop and allegedly found drugs and a gun in his car.
According to police, a Fifth Precinct officer was on patrol when he saw a gray 2007 BMW traveling east on West Merrick Road with dark tinted windows. The officer stopped the car at the intersection of West Merrick Road and South Corona Avenue.
Police say that as the officer approached the car, he allegedly saw the driver, Anthony Daley, 29, of Greenwood Place, moving his arms near the driver's side door and floor of the car. The officer also allegedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Police say the officer allegedly saw a brown, hand-rolled cigarette filled with a brownish-green substance, believed to be marijuana, in the center console.

Daley was placed under arrest at the scene. Officers say they found a silver Smith and Wesson .38 revolver, two small pink bags containing a white substance believed to be cocaine and a small bag of a brownish substance believed to be marijuana.
Daley is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tinted side windows and obstructed driver's view. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
