Woman Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Car In Nassau
BREAKING: She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is listed in serious condition.

A woman was hit by a car while crossing a road in Valley Stream early Tuesday morning, leaving her in serious condition.
According to police, the unidentified woman was crossing south to north on Sunrise Highway, east of Green Acres Road West, at 1:59 a.m. when she was struck by a 2002 Hyundai Elantra being driven by a 24-year-old woman, heading west on Sunrise Highway.
The woman suffered severe head trauma and was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in serious condition. The car was impounded for brake and safety tests.

The accident shut down Sunrise Highway in the vicinity for hours this morning. The road reopened around 6 a.m.
