Spring Chorale Concert at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity

Music director Gus Chrysson directs the Cathedral Choir of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in “Lenten Prayers & Praise” with orchestral accompaniment from The Juilliard School.  In a continuation of the Cathedral’s “Christian East Meets Christian West” series, the program will feature the “Magnificat” by Pergolesi – an Italian Baroque cantata featuring the words of the Virgin Mary as preserved in Luke 1:46-55, accompanied by the chamber orchestra with four soloists.  Premiering will be “The Troparion of Kassiani” as set by local composer and Cathedral resident artist EleniTraganas.  “Idou o NymfiosErhete” (“Behold the Bridegroom Cometh”) by Nicholas Roubanis and “Ti Ipermacho” (“O Valiant General”) set in a majestic four-part choral structure, will round out the program.
