Duo Attempts to Rob Taxi Driver at Gunpoint
The attempted robbery occurred in Roosevelt on Friday morning.
ROOSEVELT, NY - Police are seeking two men who attempted to rob a taxi driver at gunpoint early Friday morning in Roosevelt.
The two men entered an All Island Taxi on Gombert Place in Roosevelt at about 12 a.m. The first man, who entered the front seat of the taxi, displayed a handgun.
The 58-year-old driver kicked the man with the gun and the two ran away heading southbound on Gombert Place before heading west on Park Avenue.

No injures or proceeds were reported.
Both are described as between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 and wearing dark clothing, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding the crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
