Woman Arrested For DWI After Colliding With Police Car: Cops

BREAKING: Police say the woman hit the officer's car and kept driving.

A woman from West Babylon was arrested early Sunday for driving while intoxicated after police say she drove into a parked police cruiser.

According to police, a Nassau County Highway Patrol officer was parked at the intersection of South Main Street and Mill Road in Freeport to monitor traffic at about 2:30 a.m. Police say a 2012 Honda Accord being driving by Charisse Trapani, 34, of Columbus Avenue, crossed a solid white line, collided with the officer's car and then continued driving.

The officer pulled the car over and arrested Trapani without incident. No injuries were reported.

Police say they they recovered four tablets believed to be amphetamine and a white powdery substance believed to be ketamine from inside her car.

Trapani is charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and numerous vehicle and traffic law violations. She is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
