Village Pediatrics Moves to New Location

Village Pediatrics recently opened its new 5,000 square foot state-of-the-art medical facility at 1000 Franklin Avenue, Suite 100 Garden City, NY 11530. The office features wireless Internet and electronic weights and heights, for more accurate charting. They will also start offering "eScripts" (electronic prescriptions) by Autumn 2012 and electronic medical recording will begin within one year.

"Village Pediatrics has been a fixture in Garden City for over 20 years serving the many local communities with 'pediatricians spanning four generations' and with our new state-of-the-art medical facility, we plan to continue to meet the needs of all the patients," said Jeffrey Lieberman, MD, FAAP.

The new office is also larger and brighter, making the experience of going to visit a pediatrician less stressful for children and their parents. The waiting area boasts colorful, comfortable couches and the rooms where patients are seen are clean, modern and comfortable.

One thing the Pediatric doctors were committed to was decreasing wait times for parents and children.

Dr. Peter O’Keefe says: "The process from checking in to having a physician in the room with the patient has decreased. We now have multiple height/weigh stations, hearing screeners, and urinalyses and the amount of time it takes for the medical assistant to perform all of these tasks has decreased. For example, in the old office, if there was a well child visit for a brother and a sister, all the items listed above would have to be done individually, now with multiple machines at all stations, the process has essentially cut the time in half. This should reduce the time at which busy parents need to be in our office. It is more streamlined."

eScripts are a significant advancement in healthcare. With an eScript, the pediatric doctor is able to get a prescription to the parent's pharmacy of choice immediately. There will be less wait time at the pharmacy and also less errors, because the information is transferred electronically. eScripts will be available by Autumn 2012.
