Update: Cops: 3 Smash Jewelry Cases, Steal Rolex Watches from Roosevelt Field

Thieves smashed displays in Tourneau Jewelers Tuesday evening, cops said.

Three people smashed jewelry cases and swiped several high end watches from a Roosevelt Field Mall store Tuesday evening, according to Nassau County Police.

At about 5:20 p.m., three men entered Tourneau Jewelers and approached two salesmen working in the Rolex section of the store, cops said. Suddenly, the trio took out hammers and smashed glass display cases, police said.

The thieves made off with several Rolex watches, fled through Macy’s, and left the mall through the south entrance, cops said.

Rolex watches can be priced in the thousands of dollars.

One subject was described as a black man, 20-30 years old, and 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10. He was wearing a light-colored sweatshirt with unknown lettering on the front, dark pants, and a skull cap.

A second subject was described as a black man, 20-30 years old, and had a mustache. He was wearing a dark skull cap and dark suede jacket.

A third subject was described as a black man, 20-30 years old, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-3, and had a mustache. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark clothing at the time.

The three men were seen in a green Ford pickup truck with gray running boards and were heading east on Ring Road.
