Fall Prevention & Balance Testing Program

Friday, May 13, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Farmingdale Public Library

Did you know that 1 in 3 older adults will fall each year, and 1 in 5 falls results in a serious injury such as a broken bone or a head injury?

On May 13 I am hosting my "Fall prevention and Balance Testing Program" from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Farmingdale Public Library (116 Merritts Road, Farmingdale). Catherine Dunckley, a Certified Health Education Specialist at North Shore University Hospital, will discuss topics related to fall prevention including muscle weakness and balance issues, vision problems, the use of medications, proper footwear and home and community hazards.

After the presentation, Dr. Stephanie Idjadi and Dr. Patrick Lyo from Reddy-Care Physical Therapy will conduct a balance screening which will measure your risk for a fall.
