The Thunder will host "Equipment Day" on Sunday, June 13 at St. Paul's gym from 9-11:30 a.m.
In addition, a "Players Clinic" for the 7-, 8- and 9-year-old age groups will be held at St. Paul's field on Sunday, June 13 from 10-11 a.m. The boys will get their first taste of the Thunder program; coaches from these age groups will teach the boys some basic fundamentals of the sport as well as run through several fun drills. The boys will need to wear shorts, tee-shirt and cleats or sneakers, no equipment is needed.
Applications are still being accepted for the upcoming 2010 Thunder football season. If you are 7 years old with a birth date of Dec. 1, 2002 or later you are eligible to start your Thunder football career. Download the forms at www.gcthunder.com.

Each year 230+ boys from Garden City participate in the Thunder football program playing eight games per year against other teams in Nassau County. The season begins Aug. 1, which is when teams are eligible to start practice. Typically teams will practice three times during the week in August. Once school begins in September teams will practice two times during the week, once on Saturday and play the games on Sunday.
Locations of the games vary depending on opponent with a split of four home games and four away games. The season will last through early November with the potential for teams to make the playoffs, which could last another two weeks.

10-year-old (born between Dec. 1, 1999-Nov. 30, 2000) 112 lbs.
11-year-old (born between Dec. 1, 1998-Nov. 30, 1999) 122 lbs.
