Construction Worker Dies After Becoming Submerged During Water Main Break: PD (patch.com) — Residents in East Garden City are learning more about a tragic construction accident near Ring Road, where a 56-year-old worker from West Babylon died after becoming submerged during a water main break. Coworkers pulled him from underground and first responders tried life-saving measures before he was pronounced dead at a local hospital, and Nassau County police say the investigation is still ongoing.
   

2. Town recognizes GCPD officers (gcnews.com) — Two Garden City police officers were honored by the Town of Hempstead after rescuing a semi-conscious driver from a burning car at Cherry Valley Avenue and 11th Street. Working together until firefighters and EMTs arrived, they pulled the victim from the vehicle, controlled the flames, and helped ensure the driver reached the hospital in stable condition.
   

3. Garden City Jeep to Pay $175,000 in EEOC Sexual Harassment Lawsuit (eeoc.gov) — A Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge dealership and its parent company will pay $175,000 and implement workplace reforms to settle a federal sexual harassment lawsuit. The EEOC alleged managers ignored repeated complaints about an inventory manager's behavior, and a two-year consent decree now mandates training, handbook changes, reporting, and a ban on rehiring the accused manager.
   

4. Newsday's top 10 Long Island high school boys soccer team rankings (newsday.com) — Garden City's boys soccer team is ranked sixth on Long Island as the Trojans chase a third straight state title, despite a recent upset loss to Jericho.
