1. This Week Crime In Garden City: Stolen Flag, Flock Camera Damage, Vaping (patch.com) — Garden City's latest weekly police report details package thefts, a stolen flag and wreath, a hit-and-run arrest, and damage to a village Flock camera, along with several fire alarm and hazardous condition calls. It also notes responses at Adelphi University and the Garden City Jewish Center, plus traffic enforcement and support for the village's 9/11 memorial ceremony.
   

2. POAs address traffic, police technology (gcnews.com) — Garden City's Property Owners' Associations just hosted a joint meeting where residents heard directly from the police commissioner, mayor, trustees, and library leaders about traffic cameras, drones, Seventh Street activity, St. Paul's, and other infrastructure projects. Neighbors also learned about Homecoming on September 19, a POA Fall Festival on September 27, and an October 20 meeting focused on temporary Mott-section traffic measures.
   

3. Legion Auxiliary honors those lost on 9/11 (gcnews.com) — Garden City residents and community leaders recently gathered for the village's annual 9/11 memorial ceremony, joined by the William Bradford Turner American Legion Auxiliary to honor victims, families, first responders, and service members. The Auxiliary highlights its year-round work supporting veterans, local programs, and patriotic events, and invites neighbors to get involved through membership, volunteering, and community activities that keep the spirit of unity and service alive.
   

4. Recovered service medals returned to veteran's family (gcnews.com) — A family with roots in Garden City has been reunited with five long-missing military medals earned by their late grandfather, Private Angelo Maggio, for his post–World War II Army service in Germany. After Maggio settled in Elmhurst and later moved to Garden City in 1998, his grandson turned to Rep. Laura Gillen's office, which helped recover and present the honors for future generations to cherish.
