Roosevelt Field Movie Theater Closed for Renovations
Garden City theater to undergo major renovation before reopening in late-fall.

AMC Leows theater at Roosevelt Field has temporarily shut its doors for an extensive renovation.
The 42,000-square-foot theater will be closed until November to undergo a multimillion dollar refurbishment that will replace seats with power recliners, additions to the concessions stand, and sound system updates, according to Newsday.
“It’s something we’ve been doing across the country for the last few years,” AMC spokesman Ryan Noonan said, according to the report.

With regard to the theater missing the summer season of blockbusters, Noonan added, “Obviously it’s going to be a big year but ultimately we want to elevate this moviegoing experience as early as possible,” according to the report. Read the story here.
