Car Goes Airborne, Causes Head-On Crash in Glen Cove
A driver suffered serious injuries from the Sunday night crash, police say.
A man was seriously hurt after his vehicle went airborne and collided head-on with another car in Glen Cove Sunday night, police say.
According to authorities, a 32-year-old man was speeding in a 2000 Toyota Corolla eastbound on Sea Cliff Avenue when he went airborne near the LIRR crossing, entered the westbound lanes and struck at 2012 Chevrolet Camaro at 7:42 p.m.
The driver of the Corolla suffered serious head injuries and is listed in guarded condition while the driver of the Camaro, a 55-year-old man, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers, who were alone in their vehicles, were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Both vehicle were impounded at the scene and the investigation is ongoing, police say.
