I Am My Sister brings GirlHood program to Glen Cove Library for fifth-grade girls (liherald.com) — Families with fifth-grade girls in Glen Cove can now enroll in a new 12-week after-school GirlHood program at the Glen Cove Library starting Oct. 1. Run by nonprofit I Am My Sister, the small-group sessions will explore friendships, emotions, changing bodies and confidence, with journals, guest speakers and scholarships available to help girls feel prepared for middle school.
   

5. Glen Cove gets $1 million state grant for Pascucci Soccer Field (fingerlakes1.com) — Glen Cove is getting a $1 million state grant to upgrade Pascucci Soccer Field, the city's only public soccer field and a longtime hub for local youth leagues. The funding will pay for a new turf surface and other repairs, supporting programs that serve more than 1,000 children and many adult players, though officials have not yet released a construction timeline.
