Ethics Committee Not Expected To Recommend Expelling Santos: Report
An expulsion vote went in George Santos' favor earlier this month.

WASHINGTON, DC — The House Ethics Committee is expected to release its findings Thursday on Congressman George Santos. The committee is not planning to recommend expulsion for the embattled lawmaker, CNN reported.
After Santos survived an expulsion vote earlier this month, several members of the House said they needed to wait for the ethics committee's report as guidance.
Chairman Michael Guest (R-Mississippi) told CNN a recommendation for expulsion could extend the committee's work into next year. But the report will outline allegations and evidence of misconduct, leading potentially to a second vote on the floor.

"New Yorkers already know George Santos is an admitted fraud, and I'll continue to advocate for his expulsion," Rep. Anthony D'Esposito said.
D'Esposito and four other New York Republicans supported the vote to end Santos' congressional career. The vote failed 213 to 179.

Santos, who represents parts of Northern Queens and Nassau County for the 3rd Congressional District, faces 23 federal charges that include wire fraud and credit card fraud. He pleaded not guilty. The first-term representative is also accused of embellishing aspects of his professional and personal life.
Based on the House Ethics findings, another vote to expel was thought to be on the table.
"I will take whatever comes my way," Santos told CNN on Wednesday.
He also told the cable news outlet after the Nov. 1 vote that he "absolutely" intends to run for re-election even if he's ultimately ousted.
