Glen Cove Seniors Prepare Mouthwatering Dish to Win Ready, Set Cook Competition
The pair received special chef's jackets and partial scholarships to Monroe College in New Rochelle.

Two Glen Cove High School seniors were recognized for their cooking talents and received first place in the Ready, Set Cook competition, hosted by the Long Island Chapter of the American Culinary Federation.
Geoffrey DeCoster and Kyle Muzante, culinary students at BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career and Technical Education Center in Westbury, created a meal within a specific time frame under the direction of a coach. The duo competed against cooking teams of different ages to come out on top.

DeCoster and Muzante’s winning dish was a pork loin with apple mushroom demi, sautéed potatoes, a yellow and green vegetable melody and a pan fried spinach egg.
The pair’s first-place win was announced at an awards gala held at Leonard’s of Great Neck on Monday, March 9. They received special chef’s jackets and partial scholarships to Monroe College in New Rochelle.
