WASHINGTON, DC — Embattled congressman George Santos expects to be expelled when a vote takes place this week.

Santos opened up during a three-hour X Spaces over the holiday weekend, the Washington Post reported.

Along with facing 23 federal charges that include money laundering and aggravated identity theft, the first-term lawmaker will have a second vote to remove him from office.

A recently released House Ethics Committee report found “substantial evidence” that Santos committed crimes.

While Santos didn't directly address any of the charges he faces, he called the Ethics report "slanderous," and accused the Committee Chairman Michael Guest (R-MS) of "weaponizing" his position to publish a "hit-piece" on him, the Washington Post reported.

Guest filed a resolution for the expulsion vote.

Congress returns from the Thanksgiving break on Tuesday. Santos told his X followers after the report was released that he wouldn't seek re-election and that he'll hold a news conference on Thursday.

Santos' former communications director, Naysa Woomer, on the Patch Weekly Spotlight, said: "I would be shocked if he does survive this one."
