WASHINGTON, DC — While Congressman George Santos was saved from expulsion earlier in the week, another vote could happen this month after the House Ethics Committee details its investigation results.

However, Santos told CNN Friday in an interview airing Sunday morning that he will run again even if he is removed from office.

Santos pleaded not guilty to multiple federal charges stemming from campaign fraud, credit card fraud and identity theft.

"Could I have won the general election last time? Nobody said I could." Santos told CNN. "Elections are tricky. There's no predetermined outcome."

Santos won the 3rd Congressional District with 54% of the vote a year ago. Thereafter, he admitted to fabricating parts of his resume as reports began to document the alleged lies. The embattled congressman, though, doesn't think his controversies impacted the election, or should for the next one.

"Nobody elected me because I played volleyball or not. Nobody elected me because I graduated college or not," he told CNN. "Nobody knew my biography. Nobody opened my biography who voted for me in the campaign."
