GLEN COVE, NY — Tom Suozzi has released a 10-point plan to "Help Restore Sanity to Washington and Get Things Done."

Suozzi, the former congressman for New York's 3rd District, faces upstart Nassau County Legislator Maza Melesa Pilip in the special election to replace George Santos, who was expelled on Dec. 1.

Suozzi's plan illustrates a need to "move beyond petty, partisan and performative finger pointing," the release stated.

The Democrat also calls for passing the Tom Suozzi-Peter King Compromise to address the immigration crisis.

"You see the borders and people coming across the borders. This is not a phenomenon," Suozzi said at his campaign launch on Dec. 9. "I don't like the fact that they blame it all on this administration. That's not accurate. It's been doing for 40 years since I was the mayor of Glen Cove."

The 10-point plan also calls for standing up to extreme attacks on reproductive freedom, supporting Israel and Ukraine and improving public safety.

"The growing influence of the far right and far left have led to gridlock in Congress. My 10-point plan is a blueprint to address the real concerns people face and my intention to work with anyone of goodwill who has the same objective of actually addressing challenging problems and working together to come up with a solution," Suozzi said.

The special election takes place on Feb. 13.
