Supporting The Arts: Glen Cove Organizations Receive $7,500 Donations
The contributions aim to strengthen programs that enrich the community's culture, arts, and youth services.
GLEN COVE, NY — Two organizations in Glen Cove received $7,500 donations in support of their mission to strengthen the arts and human services in the community.
First City Project Collective, joined by Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, presented the checks to both Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Bureau and the North Shore Community Theatre.
The not-for-profit Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Bureau was founded in 1981 with the goal of supporting educational, nutritional, and recreational programs that are offered by the Glen Cove Youth Bureau.

DeRiggi-Whitton shared the importance of enhancing arts programs in the city.
“By embracing the arts and enriching the lives of our youth, each of us has the opportunity to contribute to a better and more vibrant future for Glen Cove and all of Nassau County,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said.

DeRiggi-Whitton serves as First City Project Collective's advocacy director and board secretary. The organization was launched by Joe LaPadula and Jon Holzer with the purpose of utilizing the arts towards Glen Cove's economic growth, with the ultimate goal of providing new opportunities for artists to showcase their talents to their neighbors. They are dedicated to creating a community of art appreciation and positivity.
“By working together to support our community and invest in its future, we are building opportunity, inspiration, and a legacy that shapes future generations,” LaPadula said.
