MURRAY HILL, NY — Three people were sent to the hospital Tuesday morning after being hit by a United States Postal Service truck in Murray Hill, officials said.
The Postal Service driver hit the three pedestrians while driving in reverse through the intersection of First Avenue and East 37th Street around 10 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said. The driver had initially driven north through the intersection before coming to a stop and backing through it, the spokesman said.
The three victims — a 48-year-old woman, a 68-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man — were taken to Bellevue Hospital after suffering minor injuries, an NYPD spokesman said. The 48-year-old suffered pain to her right leg, the 68-year-old suffered pain to her leg, ribs and neck and the 66-year-old suffered pain to both his legs, the spokesman said.
