Police Searching for Christmas Day Phone Snatcher in Murray Hill: NYPD

Police are looking for a man who they believe stole a subway rider's cellphone on Christmas Day.

MURRAY HILL, NY — Police are trying to identify a man who they believe stole a subway rider's cellphone inside the 14 St. and 3rd Avenue subway station on Christmas Day.

At about 2 a.m. Dec. 25., the suspect (pictured above) approached the 54-year-old male victim and stole his Galazy cell phone on a Manhattan bound "L" train that was stopped inside the 14 Street and 3rd Avenue subway station, police said. The suspect then fled the scene.

Police described the suspect as a black male, standing 5-foot-six and weighing approximately 160 pounds.
