The remains of a vacated veterans memorial on the Village Green in Great Neck sits nearby to a recently-constructed site.
Plaques to honor fallen heroes were removed from the wall and used for the updated memorial located about 20 yards away.
An inscription on the vacated wall, first dedicated into veterans killed in past wars in 1952, "They Gave All That We May Live In Peace."
The brick construction of the memorial appears damaged by the removal of the relocated plaques which honor veterans. The somewhat unsightly display beneath the inscription could possibly be misinterpreted to be vandalism by visitors.
What do you think should be done with this wall? Should it be refurbished? If so, what should go here? Should the inscription remain or should it be left as is? Tell us in the comments section.
