Great Neck School Budget Passes, Board Members Elected

Voters have decided on a proposed 2015-16 budget.

Great Neck residents approved the school district’s $216.7 million proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 839-179, according to the school district.

The budget includes a 1.23 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.56 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

Incumbents Barbara Berkowitz and Donald Ashkenase ran unopposed and were re elected.
