26-Year-Old Woman Killed in Dix Hills Crash
The two-vehicle crash occurred on Commack Road near Euclid Avenue Tuesday morning.

A 26-year-old Babylon woman was killed after she lost control of her vehicle in Dix Hills Tuesday morning, police said.
Cassandra Walter was driving a 2000 Saturn northbound on Commack Road near Euclid Avenue when she crossed over the double yellow line and struck a 2000 Honda minivan at 7 a.m.

Medical examiners pronounced Walter dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda, Alex Dario Oliva Rodriguez, 35, of Hempstead, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was treated and released.

Authorities subsequently arrested Rodriguez for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating the crash. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
