Oceanside firefighters saved one family’s Mother’s Day after making an adorable rescue Sunday night.
A frantic family called the Oceanside Fire Department at 7:34 p.m. when their cat became stuck at the bottom of a storm drain.
After testing the 12-foot deep drain for lethal gases, firefighter Danny Leboff squeezed down a ladder to the bottom and rescued the frightened feline.

Leboff resurfaced and was met with loud applause from a crowd of onlookers, which included the cat’s teary-eyed owner.
Truck Co. and EMS also responded to the call and assisted in the rescue.
