Woman Struck by Her Own Minivan That Rolled Down Long Island Driveway

The woman is in serious condition following the Monday afternoon incident, police say.

A Dix Hills woman is in serious condition after police say she was struck by her own vehicle as it rolled down her driveway Monday afternoon.

According to authorities, a passing motorist found Karen Breden, 54, lying in the street on Magnolia Lane, at the corner of Wolf Hill Road, at approximately 2:35 p.m.

Police believe that after Breden parked and exited her 2002 Chrysler minivan in her driveway, which is on an incline, she was struck by the vehicle as it rolled down the driveway.

Dix Hills Fire Department Rescue transported Breden to Huntington Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
