U.S. News Ranks Half Hollow High Schools Among Best Schools in New York
Over 400 New York high schools were recently ranked.

The verdict is out on the top high schools in New York State after U.S. News & World Report released its rankings Tuesday.
Several schools on Long Island made the list, including Half Hollow High School West and Half Hollow High School East
The latest rankings put West at No. 54 and East No. 59 in New York State.

The rankings make Half Hollow High School West and East the twelfth and thirteenth best high school on Long Island, respectively.
Rankings are based on student to teacher ratios, college readiness with regard to Advanced Placement exam scores, and proficiency in mathematics and English.

Of the 60 percent of HHHSW students who take AP exams, 52 percent of them pass, according to the report. About 91 percent of students are proficient in math and 93 percent are proficient in English.
Of the 57 percent of HHHSE students who take AP exams, 51 percent of them pass, according to the report. About 94 percent of students are proficient in math and 94 percent are proficient in English.
Both West and East have a 15:1 student to teacher ratio
There were 439 New York high schools that made the rankings.
