New Teen Center Opens At Harlem's 125th Street Library
A new space just for teens has opened in Harlem.

HARLEM, NY — The New York Public Library celebrated the grand opening of its new Teen Center at 125th Street between Second and Third avenues on Tuesday with an afternoon of music, activities, and food.
More than 70 teens attended the ribbon-cutting, which included a teen-curated playlist, a Cha Cha Slide dance moment, and a variety of interactive stations.
Teens explored photography, created art with a 3D printer, and played video and board games, as well as participated in hands-on art projects. Attendees also received free books and other goodies.

The Teen Center is part of the library’s Teens 360º initiative, which aims to create welcoming spaces for teens to hang out, study, and explore their interests.
Staffed by young adult librarians, the centers provide mentorship, creative technology tools, and support for college and career development.
Locations in high-need neighborhoods across the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island are part of a broader effort to provide holistic support to teens through programs, resources and community engagement, the library said.
The new teen center is located at 224 E 125th St., and is open every day except Sunday. Learn more here.
