Gang Symbol Spray Painted on Vehicles, Fence in Hicksville

Gang Investigations Unit detectives are investigating the spray painting of gang symbols on a fence and several vehicles in Hicksville Friday night.

According to authorities, an unknown person or persons spray painted “MS13” on a fence and multiple vehicles at a Violet Avenue residence between the hours of 10 and 11 p.m.

Mara Salvatrucha 13, known as MS13, is an international street gang with a presence on Long Island and in other parts of the country and Central America. MS13 is considered one of the most violently dangerous and most organized gangs in the United States, according to Top Documentary Films.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
