Hicksville Woman Involved in Fatal Crash in Suffolk County

EAST ISLIP, NY - A Hicksville woman was involved in a fatal crash in Suffolk County Saturday morning, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, 57-year-old Eileen Magee, of Hicksville, was driving a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee south on Harwood Avenue in East Islip when her vehicle struck a 1998 Chevrolet Astro van that was traveling east on Union Boulevard. The van then struck a 2002 Chevrolet Prism that was stopped in a turning lane westbound on Union Avenue at Harwood Avenue. The Astro van, driven by 62-year-old Maureen Bodkin, of Islip, overturned several times, police said.

Bodkin was pronounced dead at the scene. Magee was transported to Southside Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Prism, an 81-year-old Islip woman, was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed.

The crash occurred just yards away from where a 25-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car while she was walking her dog last month.
