Driver Who Was Speeding In Horrific Crash That Killed 2 Young Women, 19, Pleaded Not Guilty: NCDA

HICKSVILLE, NY — A 23-year-old man pleaded not guilty after a tragic Hicksville crash that took the lives of two 19-year-olds on Jan. 23, the Nassau County DA's office said.
Frank Labidi of Farmingville pleaded not guilty before Judge Maria Boultadakis to charges including two counts of second-degree manslaughter and two counts of second-degree assault, the DA said.
Alexa Duryea and Lindsey Parke, both of Levittown, died in the horrific crash, NCPD said.

ADA Taglienti said during the arraignment that Labidi was driving at more than twice the posted 40 mph speed limit when he lost control of the vehicle, the DA's office said.

According to the charging papers, the crash took place at 11:30 p.m. in Hicksville, the DA said. Labidi was operating a 2018 BMW with Florida registration on West Old Country Road westbound when he lost control of the car and crossed over into oncoming traffic, the DA said. The vehicle spun around and hit a tree and a building, and from the force of the crash, the muffler was ejected from the car and went into the building, the charging documents said.
The two female passengers suffered severe trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene, Nassau County police said. The driver, Labidi, was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, police said.
The DA's office said no other charges were filed. ADA James Taglienti handled the arraignment. Labidi was represented by Peter Menoudoukos, who could not immediately be reached for comment.
Bail is set at $500k cash, $1.25 million bond, and $2.5 million partially secured bond, the DA's office said.
He is expected back in court on Feb. 3 for the felony screening part, the DA's office said.
