• MS-13 Gang Member Sentenced for Sexual Assault, Gun Possession (lilifepolitics.com) — A Hicksville man associated with MS-13 has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after a jury conviction on predatory sexual assault, weapons charges, and related offenses. Prosecutors say he repeatedly threatened and abused a woman, including an assault at his Hicksville home, before Nassau County police arrested him and recovered multiple firearms and IDs.
   

• Town plans 9/11 Memorial Ceremony (midislandtimes.com) — Hicksville residents are invited to the Town of Oyster Bay's annual 9/11 memorial ceremony on Wednesday, September 9 at 7 p.m. at TOBAY Beach, marking 25 years since the attacks. The program will feature music, readings, a light tribute, and the unveiling of new names on the town's 9/11 Memorial and Walls of Honor recognizing those lost to 9/11-related illness.
