Men Assaulted, Robbed in Hicksville Within 1 Hour of Each Other

In one case, a pizza delivery man was hospitalized after unknown men attacked him and stole money and pizza, police say.

A pizza delivery man was assaulted and robbed by two people while another man was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint in separate Wednesday night attacks approximatley an hour apart from each other in Hicksville, police say.

At 10:25 p.m., a 25-year-old man was walking southbound on Jerusalem Avenue when he was approached by a man who said something, causing the man who was walking to stop, police say. The man was then punched in the stomach, had a black handgun pointed at him and was told to hand over his property. The 25-year-old complied and handed over his phone, wallet and a backpack that contained personal property. The 25-year-old man then ran away from the scene and no injuries were reported.

Police described the robber as Hispanic, in his late twenties 5 feet 6 inches tall and with a stocky build.

At 11:45 p.m., a 46-year-old man attempting to deliver pizza for Domino’s to a Boulder Lane home was attacked by two unknown men, police say. One of the attackers elbowed the man in the face and demanded money. The robbers fled the scene in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash and two pizzas.

The pizza delivery man was transported to an area hospital to be treated for facial injuries.

The robbers likely set up the delivery. Police say the homeowner at the location where the food was to be delivered had not ordered anything from Domino’s.
