3 Teens Charged With Recklessly Riding ATV, Dirt Bikes in Huntington: Police

A canine officer and his dog Argo located the boys hiding from authorities in the woods Sunday afternoon, police say.

Three 16-year-old boys were arrested for recklessly riding dirt bikes and an ATV in Huntington Sunday afternoon, police say.

According to authorities, police noticed the vehicles traveling southbound on Park Avenue and followed the teens to Berkeley Jackson County Park where they abandoned the vehicles and fled into the woods at 4:50 p.m.

Officers established a perimeter and police dog Argo entered the woods with Canine police officer Paul O’Brien. They located all three teens and placed them into custody, police say.

The boys, all from Huntington Station, were charged with reckless driving and were released on bail to their parents. All vehicles were impounded and the teens are scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on August 1.
