Here is the original article posted Thursday morning:

One Huntington man is under arrest for stabbing another during a fight outside Pancho Villas following a Cinco de Mayo celebration, police said.

The fighting took place as a large group of  revelers were leaving the Mexican restaurant just before 1 a.m. Thursday, according to Suffolk County police.

Ryan DiPaolo, 21, became involved in a verbal altercation with several people as he was leaving Pancho Villas, located just north of the Book Revue on New York Avenue,  police say. The argument apparently became heated, which resulted in Wesley Erickson, 26, of 55 Cedar Drive, Huntington, allegedly stabbing DiPaolo.

Erickson fled the scene but was apprehended a short distance away. DiPaolo was taken to Huntington Hospital and was treated and released.

Erickson was charged with second degree assault and resisting arrest. He also has an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Pennsylvania for a parole violation.

He was held  overnight and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.

A Melville woman, Matia Branch, 24, was also arrested after she allegedly punched a police officer. She was also held overnight and will be arraigned today.
