Baby, 4 Adults Escape Huntington House Fire; Officer Hospitalized: Police
A police officer was treated for smoke inhalation after responding to an early morning residential fire on Edgar Court, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — A Suffolk County police officer was treated for smoke inhalation after responding to a residential fire early Friday morning in Huntington, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, officers responded to a home on Edgar Court at around 12:40 a.m.
All occupants of the house — four adults and one baby — were safely evacuated within minutes, with police confirming they were out of the home by 12:42 a.m.

One officer later self-transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, police said. The extent of the officer’s injuries was not immediately released.
Arson Section detectives are investigating the cause of the fire.
