Indian Traditions - from Ancient Times to Bollywood - Teacher Workshop

The Huntington Arts Council Inc. presents it's annual Cultural Arts Workshops for Teachers 2012.


Dr. Rohini Ramanathan, the Founder/Director of India Heritage Institute of LI and Founder/Lead Singer/Director of the East-West World Music Epiphany, will present an overview of the history and culture of the Indian subcontinent, from the Indus Valley Civilization to birth of the Republic.



Participants will be also guided through a writing exercise and a live music demonstration. The western influence on India’s current film, fashion, literature, cuisine, sports will be explored alongside India’s ancient rich cultural heritage.

The workshops are free to teachers in Journey school district partners: Commack, Harborfields, Huntington, North Babylon, Northport/East Northport, Plainview/Old Bethpage and South Huntington school districts.


Teachers from other districts and general public will pay a $15 fee per workshop
