Forty firefighters responded to a basement fire that broke out in a Huntington Station home Sunday night.
According to fire officials, the fire occurred at an Engelke Avenue home at 5:30 p.m.
The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to the scene and were able to quickly contain the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal.
The firefighters and six trucks were under the command of chief Frank McQuade and assistant chiefs Mike DePasquale and Jon Hoffmann.

The Melville Fire Department provided assistance at the scene with a Rapid Intervention Team, the Greenlawn and Huntington Fire Departments provided standby coverage and the Huntington Community First Aid Squad provided EMS support at the scene.
