Friday Pick: Saxophonist Daniel Bennet at Huntington Library

If you love live music, check out the Huntington Public Library Friday, when New York saxophonist Daniel Bennett performs a special “Long Island CD Release Concert.”

Bennett and his band recently released Clockhead Goes to Camp.

According to the library:

Bennett has been hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation. The Village Voice raves “saxophonist Daniel Bennett makes hay with an airy approach that’s buoyant enough to conjure notions of East African guitar riffs and Steve Reich’s pastoral repetition.” The Boston Herald describes Bennett’s music as an “exploratory folk-jazz hybrid.”

Also joininb Bennet are guitarist Nat Janoff and Eddy Khaimovich on bass.
