  1. Suffolk arrest report: Jan. 14. Check out the most recent arrest report from Jan 6 to Jan 12. Make sure to lock your doors to your homes and your cars as burglaries and grand larcenies have been on the rise this Winter. If you have any information regarding a crime, call Suffolk County Crimestoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS.(Huntington Patch)
  2. Popular Long Island Greek restaurant offering 'at-home' family dinner platters. Is there anything harder than having the family agree on what to order for dinner? Look no further as Oniro Tavern & Lounge in Woodbury offers to-go family dinner specials this month and February. The platters feature most of the restaurant's favorites including the filet mignon, lamb chops, seafood dishes, and the ever-popular kebabs. (Daily Voice)
  3. Town to reopen beach House, Senior Center for activities. The Town of Huntington Senior Center will reopen Tuesday for activities while it continues to remain closed for indoor dining, and only with reservations. This will include the gymnasium and classes Tuesday-Friday by reservation only. Residents with questions regarding meals and activities may contact the Senior Center at (631) 351-3253.   4. 2 fired by LI car dealership after racist comments on LIRR. Two employees of Empire Toyota of Huntington were fired after making racist remarks on an LIRR train Monday night. In a video posted to Twitter, a man could be heard telling someone, "Don't f---ing look at me," and "I'm going to get arrested tonight." Someone told him the argument was not worth getting arrested over, to which the man said, "I know it's worth it, but these f---ing foreigners ain't taking over my f---ing country." The dealership fired the employees immediately after their investigation concluded, as they were suspended when management first heard about the incident. (Huntington Patch)

  • Huntington Union Free School District: The Huntington varsity girls’ basketball team needed to rally to remain perfect on Thursday night. The Blue Devils came from behind to beat rival Smithtown West, 60-49 and improve to 12-0 on the season. (Facebook)
  • Huntington Union Free School District: Huntington’s boys’ and girls’ track teams flexed their muscles at the Millrose Games trials at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in Manhattan. Sophomore Jahmar Francis, senior Quincy Chery, junior Matteo Armstrong and senior anchor Julio Martinez won the 4x400m relay trials in a time of 3:29.30, which currently ranks the Blue Devils as No. 1 on Long Island and among the state leaders, said head coach Ronald Wilson.   • Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce: What better way to kick off the new year in a new gear? Join the Chamber of Commerce on February 4th for an in-person breakfast meeting at the Hamlet in Commack.
