  1. Huntington Town Hall lamp posts lit blue for autism awareness. "Promoting awareness, understanding and inclusion will help us achieve a world where all people with autism can reach their full potential," Supervisor Ed Smyth said. World Autism Month is every April, and the April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day. (Huntington Patch)
  2. LI Music Hall of Fame is accepting applications for its scholarship program. The Hall of Fame will be awarding four $500 scholarships to graduating students. Applications must be in by May 13, and you can click the link for directions on how to apply. (Patch)
  3. Cold Spring Harbor students run a donation drive for Ukraine. Donations flooded in and other organizations got involved to help, making it a huge success. "The Cold Spring Harbor Central School District thanks everyone for this amazing outpouring of support, which will be sent along with prayers and hope to so many in need during this time of crisis in the Ukraine," the district wrote.   4. Elwood Middle School has been named "School to Watch" by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform. Elwood is one of only two middle schools in New York to receive the designation. "I commend the Elwood Middle School community for this recognition," Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Bossert said via news release. "It is a testament to the hard work of our entire staff, the dedication of our students and the ongoing support of our community. I am extremely proud that we are a model for other schools throughout our region, state and nation!" (Patch)
