Here are the top stories today in Huntington:

  1. Bald Eagles' group says housing project dangers Eagle's nest. The Huntington Zoning Board of Appeals will be taking up a request next week that has residents on edge of the impact on the Eagles nesting in Centerport. The nest is located at Mill Pond right across from 25A and Alec Court, where two new houses will be built. “It would also be at eye level with their nest, obstructing their views. Deforestation in the area of the Eagles nest is also part of the construction plan,” the residents say in a petition on Change. org. “Eagles choose their nesting location very carefully. There must be adequate food sources and unobstructed views. If the habitat is disturbed, they will abandon the nest.” (Huntington Now)
  2. Weekend Weather brings back the cold. This month has seen some of the most confusing weather we've had in quite some time. From record high temperatures to snow, March is always inconsistent on Long Island. Saturday brings seasonal high temperatures reaching the low 50s, but Sunday a cold front moves in. Sunday will be very windy with a high of only 45. The winter jacket will be back out heading into early next week. Saturday morning will be the best option for you to head out and do some errands! (Weather.com)
  3. ICYMI: Highlights from Star Boxing's "Rockin' Fights" series at The Paramount last weekend includes some of the best local boxers. It was a great night at The Paramount, with local boxers showcasing their talents. The main card had Ukranian "The Ukrainian Pitbull" Dovhun win in a split decision and dedicate his fight to his home country. "Thank you, everyone, for the support," Dovhun said after his victory. "It's a hard time for Ukraine right now… this win I give to the Ukrainian people." (Greater Long Island)
