  1. Huntington police blotter: Taxi driver attacked, car stolen. Check out the recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Dec. 6 through Dec. 11. A Mercedes was stolen from the King Kullen parking lot in Huntington Station. On Dec. 9 robbery (first-degree) was reported on West Pulaski Road in Huntington Station at 8:15 p.m. Someone struck a taxi driver in the face with a weapon and drove the 2006 Honda Oddysey away, police said.   2. Christmas 2021 gas prices: What you'll pay at Long Island pumps. As gas prices have decreased a few cents in the past couple months, they re still $1.19 higher than they were this time last year. The decrease comes from new COVID-19 economic worries, and gas should come down after the holidays. AAA data shows the average price for a gallon of gas in Nassau County was $3.49 on Monday. In Suffolk County, it was $3.48. New York State's average price on Monday was $3.52. Average prices are updated daily. (Huntington Patch)

The Next Chapter, Book Revue's 'sequel' store hits funding goal.This week Mallory Braun announced that the crowdsourced fundraising campaign for The Next Chapter had met is goal: $250,000 in 41 days. "Thank you to everyone who has supported this project in one way or another. Thank you Richard Klein for being with me through every part of this process. Next step: establishing a bookstore in Huntington. Stay tuned and when we're open, shop with The Next Chapter," Braun posted on Facebook. (Huntington Patch)
