As the holiday season comes to a close in the next week, artist Cass Jones reflects on her work at the Huntington Holiday Spectacular. "Every snowflake I painted has a sprinkle of hope and is to honor the healthcare workers that have put their lives on the line always, but especially during this pandemic." (Huntington Patch)
  2. Cold Spring Harbor Jr./Sr. HS educator recognized. Christopher Homer, a health teacher at Cold Spring Harbor Jr./Sr. High School, was a recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award from the University of Chicago, the Cold Spring Harbor School District announced. Homer has positively impacted the lives of his students and is known to be caring and compassionate, always with an open mind. Congratulations Christopher! (Huntington Patch)
  3. Man steals $1,000 in clothes from Huntington Station Macy's: SCPD. A man stole approximately $1,065 worth of clothing from Macy's in the Walt Whitman Shops around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 13, police said. He drove away in a white four-door sedan, police said. He is wanted for grand larceny. A clear picture is available of the man and SCPD is asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Huntington Patch)

  • Halesite Fire Department: Late Monday night the fire department was called out to East Neck Rd for a structure fire. With great teamwork between HFD and those neighboring departments who responded for mutual aid, the blaze was extinguished without harm. (Facebook)
  • Huntington Union Free School District: Jillian LoTurco intends to study at one of the oldest and most highly regarded colleges in the United States. The Huntington High School senior has been accepted into and plans to attend the University of Virginia to study business or law." (Facebook)
  • Huntington Union Free School District: Blue Devil boys’ and girls’ basketball players went to work on Sunday afternoon to brighten the holidays of 25 local children from financially challenged families, teaming up with Huntington High School Alum Michael Brown on a shopping spree. (Facebook)
  • Rotary Club of Huntington, NY: The Rotary Club of Huntington spread some holiday cheer yesterday morning bringing toys, games and $1300 in holiday gift cards to Debbie Rimler and Tri Community & Youth Agency (Tri CYA) in Huntington Station. (Facebook)
