- Man carjacked at Syosset gas station. A Bay Shore man had his BMW stolen by a group of men at the BP in Syosset early Monday. Tom Fasano was stopping for gas on his way to work at the BP on South Oyster Bay Road. “I looked just to see what pump I was at, and they took my car. It was a minute, minute and a half tops,” said Fasano. 350 vehicles have been stolen so far this year in Nassau County, an almost 210 percent increase since this time last year. Remember to lock your doors and shut off your car if you are not inside. (News 12 Bronx)
- Huntington School Board approves budget to fund district operations without raising taxes. The Board voted unanimously to improve popular programs and provide multiple new initiatives without raising taxes. This is the first time in years where taxes will not increase, and residents will vote on May 17 at Huntington High School whether or not to pass the budget. (HUFSD.edu)
- Recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from April 17 through April 23. Check out recent crimes and arrests in the newest Huntington police blotter. "April 19: Robbery (third-degree) was reported on Fairground Avenue in Huntington Station at 1 a.m. Someone stole property and cash from someone at knifepoint, police said." - Huntington Union Free School District: The Huntington girls' lacrosse ream rallied to beat Riverhead 10-8 on Saturday afternoon. Gina Forte led the Blue Devils with three goals. (Facebook)
- Helping Hand Rescue Mission: Annie Pham from Torri Koi and Fishpond stopped by the Rescue Mission yesterday. They donated $600 towards their kitchen renovation and $100 to the food pantry. (Facebook)
- Spirit of Huntington Art Center: The Northport Symphony Orchestra will be holding their first concert in two years at Northport High School this Friday. Tickets are $10 at the door. (Facebook)
