- Man crashes car in Melville and flees while having gunshot wound in his arm. Daquan Cannon, 31, of Wyandanch, was driving on the South Service Road, east of Broadhollow Road, when he crashed his 2011 BMW into a tree and fled the scene. A Canine Section officer found him shortly after, with an apparent gunshot wound to the arm. He was arrested on multiple drug possession offenses and had an outstanding warrant. Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers (1-800-221-TIPS). (Patch)
- Police looking for man who stole $1,100 worth of items from Target on Dec. 8. Police said the man stole a rug and a Roomba Vacuum around 10:10 p.m. If you have any information, police are asking you to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. The tips are anonymous and often a cash reward is given after an arrest and conviction. (Huntington Patch)
