🌱 Huntington Daily: Man Dies In Crash + LIRR Parking Work Starts

  1. Peter Insaurralde, 29, of Huntington was killed Tuesday morning when his car veered off the road and hit multiple poles on Jericho Turnpike, according to police. His car struck two light poles and an unaccompanied car at 1055 E. Jericho Turnpike at 4:45 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene. (Huntington Patch)
  2. The Town of Huntington has begun work to repave the East Second Street entrance of the parking lot. Preparations have begun, and actual paving will start April 4. "The weather is cooperating earlier in the season than we had anticipated," Supervisor Ed Smyth said via news release. "We are in the final stages of this commuter infrastructure improvement project, adding 29 new parking spaces, lighting, and public safety improvements to the Huntington train station parking lot."   3. Police investigating separate gunshot incidents from the weekend. Two incidents occurred, one which we reported on yesterday, where a Wyandanch man was arrested Sunday after fleeing an accident and had an apparent gunshot wound. The second incident happened Saturday night on Croley Street where shots were fired striking a vehicle and a house. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS.   4. Take a look at the most recent police blotter from Suffolk County Police. "Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on West Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station from March 21 at 5 p.m. Someone stole a watch worth roughly $11,000and cash from the men's locker room of LA Fitness, police said."
