  1. Donations pouring in for a man shot to death in Huntington Station Saturday night. The GoFundMe organizer Sandra Huffman said, "Because of how unexpected this was, we are raising money for funeral expenses and a starting point for his family and kids," Huffman wrote. "Anything helps and sharing this GoFundMe would be appreciated. His family was the center of his world, and nothing would mean more to him than to know they are being looked after.   3. Purple flags in main locations in the town for National Recovery Month. Flags will be flown in three locations in the Town of Huntington to bring awareness to National Recovery Month, which started in 1989. The month is meant to “promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the nation’s strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and communities who make recovery in all its forms possible,” SAMHSA stated.
