- Highlights from Star Boxing's "Rockin' Fights" series at The Paramount last weekend includes some of the best local boxers. It was a great night at The Paramount, with local boxers showcasing their talents. The main card had Ukranian “The Ukrainian Pitbull” Dovhun win in a split decision and dedicate his fight to his home country. “Thank you, everyone, for the support,” Dovhun said after his victory. “It’s a hard time for Ukraine right now… this win I give to the Ukrainian people.” (Greater Long Island)
- Police are looking for man who robbed Commack Home Depot and threatened an employee in February. The police are looking for the public's help to identify the man who stole a Dewalt electric lawnmower on Feb. 28. When an employee tried to stop the man, he threatened to stab the employee and sprayed Lysol at him. Suffolk Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Patch)
- Huntington boy Sam Lavitt has volunteered since he was 11. Lavitt is now 18 and started volunteering at 11 for Long Island Cares. He now volunteers for the Harry Chapin Food Bank and is a role model for others. "Volunteering so young gave me a sense of how important it is to give back to the community," Lavitt said. "It also helped me get outside my comfort zone." Click the link to learn more about Lavitt! (Huntington Patch)
